The Starkids Academy 10th Year Anniversary

The journey of a million miles starts with single steps, the sages say. It has been ages of rigorous daily rehearsals at Freedom Park Lagos. A group of kids under the tutelage of a young and vibrant dance coach with so much tenacity, focus, and vision who has been taking a number of dance enthusiasts and aspiring professionals the ropes of dancing.

The Starkids Academy will be clocking 10 this Saturday, 27th May the Childrens’ Day. The anniversary celebration will flow throughout the day, from 10AM till 4PM for the Childrens’ Fun Fair, and then the Dance Concert will emerge from 6PM till about 11:30PM. The Fun Fair access fee is N200 per child, while the Dance Concert will attract N1,000 regular fee and N5,000 for VIP.

In partnership with Freedom Park Lagos, this occasion will welcome the dance community from across the entertainment industry, and a huge number of kids and students from various schools, to be a part of the history.

I have been taken on a guided tour by young Daniel - a gifted tour guide with articulate delivery and excellent knowledge of the site's history. The credit of preserving this history goes to the Government of Lagos State under Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola's leadership, who had the enlightenment to embrace Arch. Theo Lawson's vision to preserve this evidence of colonial correction's history. Well done, all impressive must be supported.
