Art Exhibition by Jimi Solanke

The Freedom Park Lagos will be curating an art exhibition by Olujimi Solanke, a Nigerian film actor, dramatist, folk singer, poet and playwright.

The 81-year-old who was trained at the University of Ibadan, School of Drama, where he obtained diploma certificate in drama, is referred to as Baba Agba, and African culture ambassador extraordinaire.

The native of Ipara, Remo in Ogun State, was also described as a ”master storyteller” by CNN. He was part of the team that made the film of Kongi’s Harvest by the Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka.

The exhibition kicks off from Friday the 14th of July till Sunday, 22nd July at the Museum of Freedom Park Lagos, from 9AM till 5PM daily.

I have been taken on a guided tour by young Daniel - a gifted tour guide with articulate delivery and excellent knowledge of the site's history. The credit of preserving this history goes to the Government of Lagos State under Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola's leadership, who had the enlightenment to embrace Arch. Theo Lawson's vision to preserve this evidence of colonial correction's history. Well done, all impressive must be supported.
