Afrobeats-a-thon

It is first time in a long time, some students of SPAN Academy of Jazz and Contemporary Music will be performing live at the Afrobeats-a-thon at Freedom Park Lagos, on Tuesday 29th August. This show is curated to mark the usual last Tuesday of the month live performances to hone the skills and strengthen the musicianship of the academy’s trainees.

In contrary to the regular monthly show tagged Jazz-a-thon, there will be serial performances of a genre of music considered to be Afrobeats. According to the information provided by the organizers of the event, this show edition will be featuring A4ro, Niran Boy, Mayowa Afolabi, Judah, TSO, and Ezekiel BKeyz.

This edition of Afrobeats-a-thon is powered by Injazz Records, Kian Rhythm of a Tribe, and sponsored by Freedom Park Lagos, and SPAN Academy of Jazz and Contemporary Music.

The credit of preserving this history goes to the Government of Lagos State under Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola's leadership, who had the enlightenment to embrace Arch.
