DESCRIPTION:Omileeyan started out as a Fuji drummer in 1991 under the tutelage of the popular Ara Osan ( Mr Wasiu). Omileeyan describes his brand as Hiplife\, uses percussion instruments like sekere\, talking drum\, agogo\, local flute and others in his music.  \nMr. Gbenga otherwise known as Kenny G discovered Omileeyan as an Afro beat vocalist in 1996. This led the newly discovered singer to form a band with his dear friend Samuel Sodeke former Lagbaja’s Pianist. The band played all genres of music from 1999 to 2004 while he was a member.  \nIn keeping up with the times\, the Ondo State native of Ese Odo LGA who alludes Sunny Okosun\, Fela Anikulapo Kuti\, Eddy Okota\, Bob Marley as some of his biggest influences\, is keeping things fresh as he and his LatiAfrika Vibr8brass Band do not limit themselves to just afrobeat.  \nOmileeyan also composes and plays other genres of music. This is reason why he is well sought-after\, sharing the stage with musical powerhouses like Femi Kuti\, Tee Mac and the host of others. \nOn Friday 28th April\, this year\, he will be staging a music concert ”The Root with Omileeyan” in conjunction with Freedom Park Lagos. \nKindly see flyer for details.
