DESCRIPTION:Wole Sentimenta\, born Mayowa Oluwole Olukayode\, is an Afro music artist who hails from the vibrant city of Ile-Ife\, Osun State\, Nigeria. Coming from the ancestral descent of the Ojudoba tribe in Nigeria\, Wole was destined to bring the rhythms of his heritage to the world stage. \nWole’s musical journey began at the tender age of 11 when he joined the choir\, where his passion for music ignited. At just 13 years old\, he wrote his first afro-centric gospel song titled ‘I GO SING’ and received recognition as the best young gospel artist at the Fetshiter Music Festival held in Lagos in 1997. \nAfter studying mass communication at the Polytechnic of Ibadan\, Oyo State\, Wole formed his own band called Da Uptimist in 2008. Specializing in Afro\, Jazz\, and High Life music\, Wole’s band captivated audiences with their infectious rhythms and soulful melodies. \nIn 2013\, Wole embarked on a journey across African countries\, sharing his music and culture with audiences far and wide. During this time\, he collaborated with the French-based band ‘Black Bazzar’ on the track ‘THE SWEET HOME\,’ showcasing his versatility and global appeal. \nHis talent caught the attention of management company “Sociallycued-pro International” in Texas\, USA\, who secured him a record deal with Tate Music Group in Oklahoma. His debut album\, released on June 3rd\, 2014\, featured 10 tracks that showcased his unique sound and musical prowess. \nThroughout his career\, Wole has graced prestigious stages such as the annual celebration of late Fela Anikulapo Kuti at the Felabration Festival and the Lagos International Jazz Festival in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Additionally\, Wole hosted his annual live concert titled ‘Sentimellogroove’ in 2016\, captivating audiences with his original African blend of Afro\, Jazz\, and High Life music. \nBeyond his musical endeavors\, this musician is deeply passionate about giving back to his community. He travels on tour with charity organizations across African countries\, using his music as a tool for positive change and empowerment. \nWole Sentimenta’s journey is a testament to the power of music to transcend borders\, unite cultures\, and inspire hearts. With his soulful melodies and infectious rhythms\, Wole continues to leave an indelible mark on the global music scene\, spreading joy and positivity wherever his music takes him. \n         \n   \n

Despite the detachment\, there remains an undeniable pride\, resilience\, and innovation among the people\, rendering the nation brimming with vitality. \nThe Table of Hope seeks to create space for the emergence of hope and redirect its vibrant energy toward positive transformation. Using artistic installations and a symbolic “looking glass/mirror\,” we depict Nigerian Christmases of the past\, present\, and future\, urging reflection like “A Christmas Carol.” \nThe central SADBOI “Looking Glass/Mirror” portrays both sides of Christmas: one bright and festive\, the other revealing often ignored hardships. DESCRIPTION:Sonia Aimy and JBWAI bring you the AWA Nigeria Tour 2023\, in partnership with Freedom Park Lagos\, ActionAid\, Institut Francais Nigeria\, Lagos State University\, Ontario Arts Council\, Vomnetwork\, Playroom Media Limited\, Showbuzz Media Ltd\, Mambaah Bistro\, and Culture Advocates Caucus. \nAfrican Women Acting (AWA) is a not-for-profit organization geared towards empowering\, preserving and promoting women issues & the heritage of African culture through African arts and Female artists or artists with African expressions. \nFounded in 2011 by international artist Sonia Aimy\, African Women Acting (AWA) is an incorporated non-profit organization. The organization aims to empower\, promote and preserve African cultural arts of all modalities in Ontario. These include vocal and instrumental music\, theatre\, dance\, visual arts\, spoken word\, story-telling and poetry. \nIn order to comprehensively achieve our goal\, we ardently support female African artists and those of the diaspora and champion related issues. As we are a community of women\, the agenda of addressing social activism for social issues such as sexism\, discrimination\, racism\, homelessness\, gender-based violence and mental health are some aimed at to eradicate. Through artistic expressions\, AWA brings these issues to light and offers knowledge\, support and solutions. \nAlthough AWA prioritizes promoting female African artists\, we strongly believe in inclusivity in the arts community. We encourage partnerships and collaborations with artists of all genders\, ethnicities and religious or spiritual beliefs. \nOn Thursday\, 7th December at Freedom Park Lagos\, the Music Concert will be staging for about Three (3) hours to demonstrate the purpose of the organization’s establishment.
