The organization aims to empower\, promote and preserve African cultural arts of all modalities in Ontario. These include vocal and instrumental music\, theatre\, dance\, visual arts\, spoken word\, story-telling and poetry. \nIn order to comprehensively achieve our goal\, we ardently support female African artists and those of the diaspora and champion related issues. As we are a community of women\, the agenda of addressing social activism for social issues such as sexism\, discrimination\, racism\, homelessness\, gender-based violence and mental health are some aimed at to eradicate. Through artistic expressions\, AWA brings these issues to light and offers knowledge\, support and solutions. \nAlthough AWA prioritizes promoting female African artists\, we strongly believe in inclusivity in the arts community. We encourage partnerships and collaborations with artists of all genders\, ethnicities and religious or spiritual beliefs. \nOn Thursday\, 7th December at Freedom Park Lagos\, the Music Concert will be staging for about Three (3) hours to demonstrate the purpose of the organization’s establishment. Certainly\, many music enthusiasts would not have the opportunity to witness the scintillating performances of the A-list Artistes billed to be on this show\, if not for the support of Freedom Park Lagos. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFaze was a memeber of the defunct Plantashun Boiz\, a Nigerian Hip-hop and R&B music group. It consisted of 2face Idibia\, Faze and Blackface. The group was formed during their college years in Enugu\, at the Institute of Management and Technology (I.M.T Enugu)\, Eastern Nigeria. The group moved down to Lagos where they gained popularity and with the inclusion of new member Faze at the time it was a formidable team. It didn’t take long before a chance meeting with Tony Tetuila another Nigerian ex-member of The Remedies led to further exposure of the group and eventual release of their first album as Plantashun Boiz in the year 2000. \n\n\nThe group however split up after the exit of 2 Face who wanted a solo career on the platform of Kennis Music at the time\, this didn’t go down well with the other members of the group\, but they moved on and each released their individual single albums first with 2 Face and then Blackface followed by Faze. These albums were successful\, and Nigerians kept anticipating more from them even as many hoped for their reunion.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe group was managed by Owoyemi Akinwale Nathaniel (Natz)\, Ifeanyi Oji (Odogwu)\, and Obasi Leonard (Baba Leo). As a result of the Plan B reunion album\, Plantashun Entertainment Limited Management was born in 2007. The Plan B album was distributed by T Joe. They were active from late 1990s\, early/mid 2000s\, 2007\, 2014 and beyond.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter the split of the Plantashun Boyz in 2004\, Faze signed to Solomon Arueya’s Westside Music Label of Lagos\, Nigeria\, to produce his first solo album titled Faze Alone. The album achieved platinum status with sales of 1.2 million units in its first month. \nHis brand of music called universal flavor – a fine blend of R&B\, Reggae\, Pop\, Dancehall\, Ragga and Soul\, all with an African undertone was further popularized by the release of the album. In 2006 Faze released his sophomore album “Independent”. DESCRIPTION:Sikiru Ademola Junaid Moyegeso a.k.a Sikiru Lemon\, cousin to a Nigerian Fuji Maestro\, Wasiu Ayinde\, a.k.a K1 De Ultimate\, is a Nigerian musician who has released two albums\, “Maturity” and “New Glory.” In reference to his latest music album titled Switch On\, Lemon stated\, “I am here to take one of Nigeria’s most cherished genres of music to another level. I intend to change things in the music space.” He has become a voice to reckon with as a new fuji act rocking Lagos Island and beyond\, with his fanbase. A former LAWMA worker who later became the company’s ambassador\, alongside Foluke Daramola\, Ijebu and Woli Arole. \nThe fuji singer\, says that though it is tough rising to the top of the music industry\, being the nephew of a veteran fuji singer\, Wasiu Ayinde\, aka K1 de Ultimate\, has aided the growth of his career. Apparently\, it is evident that music flows in their family. The Fuji Legend is his uncle\, and he is luckily practicing the same trade with him. \nSpeaking on his experience during his recent Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca\, Saudi Arabia\, the singer said\, “15 days before my departure to Saudi Arabia\, my new car had a terrible accident\, and it was a write-off. Many who witnessed the accident thought the occupant was dead\, but God saved me.” He further stated\, ”The feat of performing the Hajj as a Muslim would have been done since last year 2022\, but I could not attend.” \nFollowing his recent music album launch\, he has deemed it fit to hold an appreciation night for his fans. The event will be holding at Freedom Park Lagos on Thursday\, 3oth November.
