DESCRIPTION:This is to bring to the notice of the general public that the storyteller’s art exhibition which was initially scheduled to hold from the 14th to 22nd of July\, and opened on Sunday\, 16th day of the same month\, will be officially reopened on Monday 24th July. \nThe 81-year-old who was trained at the University of Ibadan\, School of Drama\, where he obtained diploma certificate in drama\, is referred to as Baba Agba\, and African culture ambassador extraordinaire. \nThe native of Ipara\, Remo in Ogun State\, was also described as a ”master storyteller” by CNN. He was part of the team that made the film of Kongi’s Harvest by Professor Wole Soyinka. \nThe curation of the art exhibition by Olujimi Solanke\, a Nigerian film actor\, dramatist\, folk singer\, poet and playwright\, will be commissioned by the Professor of Literature\, Creative Writing\, African Studies and Theatre Arts\, Wole Soyinka. \nThe exhibition will take place at the Museum of the Freedom Park\, Lagos from 2:30PM and will extend by one week\, from 9AM till 5PM daily. \nSee you there!

DESCRIPTION:Take a pause and think of what comes to your mind at the mention of the name Robert Nesta Marley otherwise known as Bob Marley. \nA singer-songwriter\, and musician\, born at the farm of his maternal grandfather in Nine Mile\, Saint Ann Parish\, Jamaica\, to Norval Sinclair Marley and Cedella Malcom. Robert was considered one of the pioneers of reggae. His musical career was marked by fusing elements of reggae\, ska\, and rocksteady\, as well as his distinctive vocal and songwriting style. He was born on the 6th of February 1945\, and unfortunately bade the world a bye on the 11th of May 1981. \nBob’s contributions to music increased the visibility of Jamaican music worldwide and made him a global figure in popular culture. In the course of his career\, he became known as a Rastafari icon\, and infused his music with a sense of what is considered spirituality. \nBob Marley began his professional musical career in 1963\, after forming the Teenagers with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer\, which after several name changes\, transformed into becoming The Wailers. \nNesta is also considered a global symbol of Jamaican music\, culture and identity\, and was controversial in his outspoken support for democratic social reforms. In 1976\, Marley survived an assassination attempt in his home\, which was thought to be politically motivated. DESCRIPTION:The Lagos Jazz Society is holding an award ceremony in honour of two giants in the art industry\, at Freedom Park Lagos. \nThe event is aimed at honouring Jahman Anikulapo for his contributions to the documentation and appreciation of African Music\, Jazz\, Drama\, and Literary Arts in Nigeria. In the same vein\, Muyiwa Majekodunmi for his contributions to the promotion of Jazz and various genres of music in Nigeria. \nThe Society will be welcoming the crème de la crème of the industry to grace the occasion tonight. Jazz Singers including Lady Ayinke Martins\, Gloria Ibru\, Debbie Ricketts\, Yinka Davies\, and O’yemi Sagay were billed to serenade the guests in attendance. History would also record the performances of the Drummers Eric Mann and MG Jazz\, Saxophonist Imoleayo Balogun\, Keyboardist El Keyz\, Bass Player Peter Fisher\, and not forgetting Teddi ”Bigteddi” Danso. \nThe Ceremony which will be featuring an award presentation\, Jazzville and The Great Highlife sessions\, will be Mastered by Peter Fisher. Our familiar DJ Ray Bee Browne will be lightening up the ambience with Oldschool\, Highlife and Jazz tunes on the wheels of steel. \nYou should be getting ready for the soiree starting from 7:00PM till only God knows when.
